How Long We Keep Your Data
Data Retention Policy
We keep your information for as long as we need it to run the service for you, and then we delete it. This page tells you how long "as long as we need it" actually is, in days, for each kind of information.
Menteez is operated by Spherical-Lab Innovation Private Limited. This summary sits alongside our Privacy Policy and Account Deletion Policy.
1. The short version

2. Why 90 days and not longer
When your subscription ends, we do not delete everything that night. People come back, and resubscribing should not mean losing your child's progress history.
Ninety days is our judgement about how long that grace should be. After it, we no longer have a reason to hold your child's information, so we do not. Under the law we are not allowed to keep personal data because it might turn out to be useful. We have to have a purpose, and once the purpose ends, so does the data.
3. If you ask us to delete your account
You request deletion from Settings → Account, or by writing to us.
- Your account is deactivated immediately. Nobody can sign in. Your subscription is cancelled.
- There is a 30-day grace window. If you change your mind, tell us and we restore everything.
- After 30 days, we permanently erase your account, every child profile, every worksheet, every result, and any photos you uploaded.

4. Copies of your data
If you ask for a copy of your data, we prepare a file and send you a private link. The link works for 7 days, and then both the link and the file are destroyed. If you need it again, just ask again.
5. What we keep even after you leave, and why
We are honest about this because "we delete everything" would not be true.

6. Your children's data specifically
Your child's information is deleted whenever you ask, without waiting for your subscription to end. You do not need a reason, and you do not have to close your whole account. Removing one child's profile removes that child's worksheets, results and photo.

7. Schools and institutions
Where your child uses Menteez through a school or tuition centre, records connected to that institution are kept for the term of our agreement with them and removed when it ends. Your rights over your own child's data are unaffected by that agreement.
8. Where your data lives while we hold it
In India, and only in India. All of it is stored in Amazon Web Services' Mumbai region and encrypted. Nothing is transferred outside the country for any purpose. Our two service providers, Amazon Web Services and Razorpay, are both in India.

10. Changes
If we change a retention period, we update this page and the date below. If we ever shorten a period, we simply apply it. If we ever lengthen one, we will explain why here.
