Account Deletion Policy
Menteez
Version: v1.0-2026-07
•Effective date: [INSERT: EFFECTIVE DATE]
1. Our position
You can delete your Menteez account and all of your child's data at any time. You do not need to email us, call us, explain yourself, or wait for us to approve it.
This document explains exactly how to do it, what happens afterwards, what we delete, and the small number of things we are legally required to keep.
Menteez is operated by Spherical-Lab Innovation Private Limited, Software Technology Park of India, Sector-5, Rourkela, Odisha 769002, India.
2. What you can delete
| What | Effect |
|---|---|
| A single child profile | That child's profile, worksheets, answers, and results are deleted. Your account and any other children remain. |
| Your whole account | Everything goes: your profile, every child profile, all worksheets and results, and your subscription. |
3. Deleting from inside the app
This is the fastest route, and it is available on the website and in both mobile applications.
- To delete your whole account: Open Settings, choose Delete Account, and confirm.
- To delete one child's profile: Open Settings, choose the child, then Delete Profile, and confirm.
You will be asked for your parent PIN because deletion is permanent and we do not want a child to be able to trigger it.
4. Deleting without the app
If you have uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, you can still request deletion.
Go to menteez.in/legal/delete-account and enter the email address on your account. We will email you a secure link. Following that link confirms your request and starts the same process described below.
The link is single-use and expires shortly after we send it. If it expires, simply request another.
If you would rather write to us, email [INSERT: SUPPORT EMAIL] from the address on your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We may ask you to verify your identity before we act, because your account contains information about a child and we will not act on an unverified instruction.
5. What happens immediately
The moment your request is confirmed:
- Your account is deactivated. You and your child lose access straight away.
- Your subscription is cancelled and will not renew. You will not be charged again.
- Your data is scheduled for permanent erasure.
Cancelling in this way does not refund the period you have already paid for. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. The 30-day grace period
We wait 30 days before erasing anything.
This is deliberate. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed once it completes, and accounts are sometimes deleted by mistake or by someone who should not have had access. The grace period gives you a way back.
We email you when the request is received, with a link to restore your account.
If you follow that link within 30 days, everything is restored as it was. Your subscription is not automatically restarted, so you would need to subscribe again.
If you do nothing, erasure runs at the end of day 30, and we email you to confirm it is done.
7. What we delete, and what we keep
Permanently deleted
- Your profile: name, date of birth, email address, phone number, location, and PIN
- Every child profile: name, date of birth, board, class, school details, and photo
- Every worksheet, every answer submitted, every score, and all progress history
- Any files we hold for you, including profile photos and data-export archives
- Your sign-in credentials
This is irreversible. We cannot recover it afterwards, and neither can you.
Kept, because the law requires it
| What | Why | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| Payment and invoice records | Indian financial, tax, and company law require them. Your identity is detached from them, so they are no longer linked to you or your child | The period required by that law, currently up to eight years from the end of the relevant financial year |
| A record that you gave and withdrew consent | Evidence that we handled your child's data lawfully | Retained as legal evidence |
| Audit records of the deletion itself | Evidence that we did what you asked, when you asked | Retained as legal evidence |
None of these contains your child's schoolwork, answers, or results.
8. Deleting one child rather than the account
If you delete a single child's profile, we erase that child's personal data, worksheets, answers, and results on the same 30-day timetable described above.
Your account, your other children, and your subscription are unaffected. If you are paying for a seat you no longer need, cancel it separately from Settings, since deleting a profile does not by itself reduce your subscription.
9. If your child was enrolled through a school
Where a school, tuition centre, or similar organisation provided your child's subscription, deleting your account removes everything we hold about you and your child through Menteez.
The organisation may separately hold its own records about your child, including the roster it shared with us. Those are the organisation's records and are outside our control. Please contact the organisation directly about them. We are happy to tell you what the organisation shared with us.
10. How long the whole process takes
| Stage | When |
|---|---|
| Access ends, subscription cancelled | Immediately |
| Grace period during which you can restore | 30 days |
| Permanent erasure | At the end of day 30 |
| Confirmation email | On completion |
If anything delays us beyond this, we will tell you why and when it will be done.
11. Questions or problems
If deletion does not work, or you do not receive the confirmation email, contact us at [INSERT: SUPPORT EMAIL]. Do not assume it failed, but please do tell us.
If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, escalate to our Grievance Officer:
Grievance Officer: Saswati Dalbehera, Founder and Managing Director, Spherical-Lab Innovation Private Limited
Email: grievance@menteez.in
We respond to grievances within 7 days. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
